Scholarships for Women
Whether you are just starting an undergraduate degree or finishing a master’s program, scholarships are available to help women finance the cost of college. Scholarships are offered in a variety of fields including science, engineering, and business. Most scholarship programs require students to be a U.S citizen, demonstrate academic excellence, and be enrolled as a full-time student. American Association of University Women- Selected Professional Fellowships
The American Association of University Women is designed to encourage women to enter fields of study where female participation is low. Applicants should be attending college full-time as well as be a U.S citizen or permanent resident. Fellowships are offered for master degrees in architecture, information science, engineering, and mathematics. Fellowships are restricted for women of color for master degrees in business administration, law, and doctorate degrees in medicine.
Association for Women in Science
The Women in Science Education Foundation provides a variety of scholarships for females pursuing a degree in a science-related field. High school seniors could be rewarded a $2,000 scholarship if they are selected as a recipient. Sophomores and juniors studying physics or geoscience can apply for the Kirsten R. Lorentzen Award. The Association for Women in Science offers coaching, mentoring, and assistance with life-transitions.
Society of Women Engineers
The Society of Women Engineers offers baccalaureate and graduate scholarships for females preparing for a career in the engineering field. Scholarships are available for women enrolled in aeronautical and biomedical engineering, engineering technology, and computer science. Applicants must be a U.S citizen with a 3.0 GPA as well as be enrolled as a full-time student. Jane M. Klausman Women in Business
Zonta International provides assistance for women enrolled in an accredited business program. The scholarship is awarded to 12 international students in the amount of $7,000. Zonta International also offers scholarships for students in the United States in the amount of $1,000. There is no age requirement to apply for the scholarship, but students must be enrolled in at least their second year of college. Students must provide proof of current enrollment and demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
