Occupation Description

Food scientists and technologists implement chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and other sciences to understand the principles underlying the processing and deterioration of nutrition; study food content to discover level of vitamins, fat, sugar, and protein; find new food sources; study ways to make processed foods less dangerous, more palatable, and healthful; and apply food science understanding to advise best ways to process, package, preserve, store and distribute food.
