Occupation Description

Civil engineers implement engineering duties in planning, laying out, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, and facilities, such as roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, dams, pipelines, power plants, channels, irrigation projects, and water and sewage systems. Work will also require understanding of architectural, structural, ocean, geo-technical, and traffic engineer’s duties.
