Soil and Plant Scientists
Occupation Description
Soil and plant scientists manage research in breeding, physiology, production yield, and control of crops and agricultural plants or trees, shrubs, and nursery stock, their growth in soil, and the control of issues such as pests. They may also need to study the chemical, physical, biological, and mineralogical make up of soils as they pertain to plant or crop growth or classify and determine the make-up of soils to study effects of alternative practices on soil and crop productivity.
