Geoscientists research the makeup, structure, and other physical properties of the planet. May use geological, physics and mathematics to aid in exploration for oil, gas, minerals, or underground water; or in waste disposal, land reclamation, or other environmental issues. They also often study the planet's internal makeup, atmospheres, oceans, and its magnetic, electrical, and gravitational forces. Mineralogists, crystallographers, paleontologists, stratigraphers, geodesists, and seismologists are included.
