Veterinary technologists and technicians implement medical examinations in a laboratory environment for use in the management and identification of illness in animals. They also ensure vaccines and serums are ready for use for deterrence of illness. They often aid in the preparation of tissue samples, take blood samples, and perform laboratory examinations, such as urinalysis and blood counts. Finally, they clean and sterilize tools and resources and preserve machines and often help a veterinarian during surgery.
