Occupation Description

Surgical technologists help in operations under the direction of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical workers. They often assist in the set-up of the operating room, preparation and transport of individuals for surgery, setting of lights and apparatus, pass instruments and other articles to surgeons and surgeon's assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
